Cruise Radio was founded by Doug Parker in the Spring of 2009. As a travel enthusiast, Doug, has many miles under his belt and loves to share his stories. Doug started the site as a portal for folks to learn about first time cruising, destinations, and to keep the travel excitement alive in this downward economy. Cruise Radio is INDEPENDENT and offers a non-biased look at today’s travel industry. Doug Parker, founder of Cruise Radio (and a weekly correspondent to the show) commented on the new radio show launch, ” with today’s economy, more consumers are looking for alternative cost effective ways to travel, Cruise Radio is a platform to get the word out about just that.” Cruise Radio can be heard every Sunday. Doug Parker- Blogger, show producer, and field correspondent. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., and a local radio personality, Doug’s passion is radio, traveling, pod-casting, running, music and who could forget cruising! Over the years, Doug, has worked as a radio personality in Nashville, TN, Valdosta,GA and has spent a majority of his career in Jacksonville, Florida. Doug is really active in all aspects of Cruise Radio from production, sales, web content, and promotion. You can find his personal travel blog DOUG ON THE GO! here.
Matt Basford
Matt Basford was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and attended Hofstra University in New York where he majored in Liberal Arts and Theater. Matt began his radio career in high school when he was 16 at WJAX and continued to work in Top 40 radio in Chicago, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, and NPR in Los Angeles. While in L.A., he was acting in film and TV, doing stand up, and was the winning bachelor both times he appeared on The Dating Game (so he’s got THAT going for him). Matt does all the voice over work and pre/post show production.
