The Dominican Republic will be getting a new cruise terminal in Maimon Bay with the assistance of the Carnival Corporation.
The new terminal will be able to dock two ships at hold 4,000-passengers. Completion of the terminal is slated for the winter 2013/2014 cruise season.
“This project has its future success assured because Carnival Corporation in addition to an investment of 65 million dollars guaranteed the massive presence of cruises and passengers”, said Minister of tourism, Francisco Javier García.
Maimon Bay is on the north side of the Dominican Republic and construction on the terminal is reported to start Oct. 2012.
