Harmony of the Seas Begins Sea Trials

Royal Caribbean’s newest upcoming ship, Harmony of the Seas, is nearing completion.  The 227,000 ton vessel just began sea trials a couple of days ago, and is slated to be delivered to the cruise line on May 12.  Under construction at STX France, her inaugural sailing will be on May 19 from Southampton before spending the summer in the Mediterranean.  After that, she will cross the Atlantic to head to her new home in Port Everglades this fall.

Harmony of the Seas will feature the tallest slide at sea, called The Ultimate Abyss.  She will also include an ice skating rink, two FlowRiders, two rock climbing walls, and a three story waterslide.  Kids will also have plenty of activities and areas just for them, including their Adventure Ocean Youth Program, the DreamWorks Experience, lounge areas, Splashaway Bay kids’ water park, and lots of family friendly activities.

This ship will not leave anyone hungry.  It will include up to 20 dining options, including an Alice in Wonderland inspired restaurant called Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, Royal Caribbean’s classic Chops Grille, Sabor Modern Mexican Restaurant, and the Japanese grill; Izumi Hibachi and Sushi.

When it’s time for a drink, Harmony of the Seas will have you covered.  It will feature the popular Bionic Bar, where a robotic bartender serves you, the Rising Tide Bar, which will take guests from deck 8 to deck 5 on a slow migration while they sip their drinks, a karaoke bar, and many more.

The inaugural sailing in Port Everglades will be November 7, after a short Bahamas trip on November 5.  Then, she will sail voyages to the eastern and western Caribbean, alternating.  Harmony of the Seas will take the place of Oasis of the Seas, as Oasis heads up to Port Canaveral.  Allure of the Seas will continue her sailings from Port Everglades, and a fourth Oasis ship is under construction, slated to be debut in 2018.
