Holland America Salutes Those Who Serve

Through Holland America’s expanded partnership with the Seattle Mariners, the cruise line is now the presenting sponsor of the “Salute to Those Who Serve” on-field recognition program of members of the military.  For the past six years, Holland America and the Mariners have been partnered in corporate sponsorship, and community outreach programs.

Holland America K’s for Kids’ Donation Program

Under this program, for each strikeout recorded by a Mariners pitcher at a home game throughout the season, the cruise line will make a cash donation to Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Last year, president of Holland America Orlando Ashford recognized the home strikeouts with a check for the hospital for $25,000 on Fan Appreciation Night.

“Salute to Those Who Serve” Military Program

At 26 home games this season, this program will honor some of the men and women from various branches of the US Military.  During Friday and Sunday games, a member of the military (active, reserve, veteran, or retired) is recognized on-field for their service.  Each honoree will receive four tickets and a parking pass to the game.  Holland America is the presenting sponsor.

Holland America Get Well Tours

The cruise line is also the sponsor of the Seattle Mariners Get Well Tours, which includes visits to area hospitals by players and the Mariner Moose.  During the visits, children and veterans receive photos and autographs, and a Holland America sports bag filled with Mariners and baseball-related things such as replica baseballs and a stuffed moose.

Fan Appreciation Night

Holland America is the presenting sponsor of the annual Fan Appreciation Night celebration at Safeco Field.  Traditionally the final Friday home game, the event celebrates the community support by loyal fans with prize drawings throughout the game.  The cruise line also provides cruise giveaways during the night.

In addition to several community outreach programs, Holland America also sponsors the seventh-inning stretch, and the Mariners team poster giveaway.  Attendees can look for Holland America signs in Power Alley and on the video board during Fan Grams.
