Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas is set to be receiving a complete makeover just in time for her summer 2016 Mediterranean season. The 90,000 ton ship features almost three acres of exterior glass, ocean-facing glass elevators, and floor to ceiling windows throughout. From May through October, it will be the only ship in its category sailing round-trip from Rome on a variety of eastern Mediterranean itineraries.
Additions to Jewel of the Seas will include:
- a two-bedroom family suite
- 24 new outside and balcony cabins
- Giovanni’s Table Italian Restaurant
- Vintages Wine Bar
- Izumi Japanese Restaurant
- VOOM high-speed wireless internet
- Poolside movie screen
Refreshes to existing locations will include:
- Chops Grille
- The spa
- Retail areas
Jewel of the Seas will sail seven, eight, and nine-night itineraries to some of the best destinations in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. She will visit popular ports such as Athens, Mykonos, Ephesus, and Santorini. The $30 million makeover will be completed in April.
