Jewel of the Seas to Receive Fresh Makeover

Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas is set to be receiving a complete makeover just in time for her summer 2016 Mediterranean season.  The 90,000 ton ship features almost three acres of exterior glass, ocean-facing glass elevators, and floor to ceiling windows throughout.  From May through October, it will be the only ship in its category sailing round-trip from Rome on a variety of eastern Mediterranean itineraries.

Additions to Jewel of the Seas will include:

  • a two-bedroom family suite
  • 24 new outside and balcony cabins
  • Giovanni’s Table Italian Restaurant
  • Vintages Wine Bar
  • Izumi Japanese Restaurant
  • VOOM high-speed wireless internet
  • Poolside movie screen

Refreshes to existing locations will include:

  • Chops Grille
  • The spa
  • Retail areas

Jewel of the Seas will sail seven, eight, and nine-night itineraries to some of the best destinations in Italy, Greece, and Turkey.  She will visit popular ports such as Athens, Mykonos, Ephesus, and Santorini.  The $30 million makeover will be completed in April.
