New Ship Ordered for Regent Seven Seas

Feeding off of the excitement for Seven Seas Explorer, the first new ship for the line in 14 years debuting this coming July, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced that another ship has been ordered.  Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Regent’s parent company, has reached an agreement with Fincantieri shipyard for a new vessel to be delivered in 2020.

The new Explorer-class ship will have many of the same high-end features and amenities that have led to Seven Seas Explorer being hailed as the most luxurious ship ever built – and this is before it has even debuted!  Guests can expect gourmet dining options, spacious staterooms and suites, and plush lounges.  More details will be announced soon.

“We knew immediately from the overwhelmingly positive response we received from travel partners and past guests that Seven Seas Explorer was going to resonate with guests searching for the ultimate in luxury travel,” said Jason Montague, president and COO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “The extraordinary demand generated by Seven Seas Explorer, including record-breaking booking volumes, reinforced our decision to expand our fleet with an additional ship that mirrors the same incredibly high standards of luxury.”

The contract price for the new ship is euro 422 million (or 480,658,000 US dollars)!
