Port of Galveston a draw for cruise lines; 3 new ships for 2011

galveston Galveston, Texas is home to miles of beaches, museums, and some new cruise ships. The port will see five total ships by the end of 2012.

This year the port will see the 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph arriving on October 6, offering four and five night year-around cruises to the Caribbean.

The brand new 3,069-passenger Carnival Magic will make her way over from Barcelona on November 14, offering passengers week long voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Royal Caribbean will home port their 3,114-passenger Mariner of the Seas in Galveston on November 20, sailing 7-night Western Caribbean sailings.

2012 also brings a couple new ships to Galveston’s cruise port. Both Disney Cruise Lines’ Disney Magic and Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess will be offering a series of 7-night voyages to the Caribbean.

The Portof Galvestonis a self-supporting enterprise fund as well as a gateway for cruisers embarking on Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
