This seems to be the month for Florida cruise ports setting passenger records! On Sunday, November 20, Tampa set an all time passenger record when over 12,600-passengers embarked and disembarked from three cruise ships: Norwegian Star, ms Ryndam, and Carnival Legend.

“This is an exciting time for us at the Port as we see a flourishing cruise business, owing to the positive guest experience offered, as well as a continued rise in popularity of Tampa as a home port of the cruise lines,” Richard Wainio, Tampa’s port director and chief executive, said.

The Port of Tampa is the nations eighth largest cruise port and expects to cap off 2011 with 940,000-cruise passengers.
