Could PortMiami be making room for an Oasis-class ship in the future? It’s looking that way if all goes according to plan between Royal Caribbean and Miami-Dade County, this according to an article in the Miami Herald.
What is the Plan?
- A new terminal, called Terminal A
- 1.5 million cruise passengers annually
- Operational by Fall 2018
- Large enough to berth a 1200′ ship
- Royal Caribbean would invest $100 million
This construction date aligns perfectly with the debut of Royal Caribbean’s two new Oasis-class ships currently under construction. There hasn’t been word on using PortMiami as an Oasis-class homeport, yet.
