Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that the upcoming 4,000-guest Norwegian Getaway will be delivered January 2014, months earlier the expected. It was also announced that she’ll sail from PortMiami year-round on seven-night Eastern Caribbean itineraries, starting February 1, 2014.
“We are pleased that Meyer Werft will deliver this incredible vessel three months earlier than scheduled,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s president and chief executive officer. “Norwegian Getaway is going to offer a fantastic cruise opportunity sailing to the Eastern Caribbean.”
To accommodate all the ships in Miami, Norwegian had to shuffle some schedules:
- On February 2, 2014, Norwegian Epic will start sailing a Western Caribbean itinerary on Sundays.
- Norwegian Sun will depart on her 10 and 11-night Southern Caribbean sailings on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Norwegian Pearl adds four new Western Caribbean itineraries for late March and early April 2014.
Bookings will open for Norwegian Getaway on October 22, 2012. This is the second of two new-builds from the Norwegian Cruise Line.
