For me, the suites have always felt so out of reach, so far outside my “league” per se that I never even considered booking one in all of the years that I’ve been cruising. I was recently invited to stay in a suite on Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas and could not have been more impressed. As a suite guest, I felt like royalty, seriously. Here are five reasons why you should book a suite on your next cruise!
As suite guests, you’re given a concierge to assist you with your every need. Someone to ensure that your vacation is nothing but a success. This person will book your excursions for you, give you insider information for each port of call, and just generally enhance your time onboard.
2. Concierge Club
Loyalty members might have their own perks onboard the ship, but suite guests are considered VIP. For that, you get your own club that only suite guests can enjoy. On Royal Caribbean ships, that includes free drinks and tapas. Need I say more?
3. Reserved Seating
For the shows, seating can sometimes come at a premium – especially on sailings that perform Broadway shows. The suite guests have a blocked off area that only they can sit in up until 5 minutes before the show. It came in handy and was nice to basically have the best seats in the house reserved just for us!
4. Specialty Dining Breakfast
On Royal Caribbean, one of the specialty restaurants, Chops is only open to suite guests for breakfast and lends a more private feeling, quieter meal.
5. Exclusive Events
Bridge tours, backstage at the production shows, and a galley tour to name a few. We were even invited onto the helipad for a champagne sail away celebration. This alone, to me, is worth the splurge on a suite.
Staying in a suite really is a special experience. Outside of the reasons above, there are so many other personal touches that just make the trip that much more exciting. I would absolutely recommend considering a suite for your next cruise vacation. You will not be disappointed!
