Abu Dhabi gets first homeported cruise ship in temporary terminal

liricamain Abu Dhabi reached a milestone today as Italian based MSC Cruises home-ported the 2,069-passenger MSC Lirica, the first cruise ship to home-port there. The ship arrived from Genoa, Italy last night.

According to a middle east business resource, “MSC Lirica will set sail tomorrow on the first of 19, eight day/seven night itineraries for the 2011/2012 season cruising around the Arabian Gulf calling at Muscat, Al Fujairah, Khasab in Oman and Dubai with 95 calls and rotations.”

Abu Dhabi is operating a temporary cruise terminal that can process 1,300-passengers.
