InnerSea Discoveries will dedicate three Alaska Unleashed sailings in the summer of 2013 for those adventurers seeking more hiking and kayaking. The 36-guest Wilderness Adventure will explore the remote wilderness of Southeast Alaska on June 8, July 13 and August 10, 2013.
These sailings aren’t for wimps, the cruise line recommends guests on these sailings be very active, as in being able to do a 25 mile bike ride or a 5 mile run.
“Although every un-cruise adventure includes outdoor activities, we’ve heeded the call to cater to guests looking for high-adventure, multi-sport activities on a daily basis,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “This is for the person who enjoys challenging themselves outside and feels happy coming home tired and maybe a bit dirty.”
Areas explored include Misty Fjords National Monument, Revillagigedo Island, Behm Canal, Thomas Bay, Baird Glacier, Frederick Sound, Stephen’s Passage, Windham Bay, Fords Terror Wilderness and Tracy Arm.
Excursions are included and led by expedition guides. Guests can choose to be as active as they wish each day with activities such as kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Skiff excursions will explore shoreline and seek out wildlife, with whale watching being a highlight.
Cruise fare for these sailings start at $5,995 per person, based on double occupancy.
