We’ve compiled a list of the different alcohol policies for each cruise line, as it pertains to bringing it onboard during embarkation, any corkage fees if you choose to drink the bottle you brought onboard in any restaurants or bars, and what the policy is with alcohol bought in ports of call.

Carnival

Embarkation: 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person (21 or older)

Corkage Fee: $15

Ports: all alcohol bought in ports will be stored until the end of the voyage

Royal Caribbean

Embarkation: 2 bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom

Corkage Fee: none

Ports: all alcohol bought in ports will be stored until the end of the voyage

Norwegian

Embarkation: wine and champagne is allowed

Corkage Fee: 750 ml bottles: $15; 1,500 ml bottles: $30

Ports: all alcohol bought in ports will be stored until the end of the voyage

Princess

Embarkation: 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person (21 or older)

Celebrity

Embarkation: 2 bottles of wine per stateroom

Corkage Fee: $25

Ports: all alcohol bought in ports will be stored until the end of the voyage

Disney

Embarkation: 2 bottles of wine or champagne per person or 6 beers, packed in carry-on bag

Corkage Fee: $25

Ports: 2 bottles of wine or champagne per person or 6 beers

Holland America

Embarkation: 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person (21 or older)

Corkage Fee: $18

Ports: wine and champagne from ports are also subject to the corkage fee, but they can also be stored until the end of the cruise if the guest wishes

MSC Cruises

Embarkation: no alcohol is allowed to be brought onboard at embarkation

Corkage Fee: N/A

Ports: all alcohol bought in ports will be stored until the end of the voyage

Cunard

Embarkation: 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person (21 or over); larger amounts need to be approved by Cunard ahead of the sailing

Corkage Fee: $20

Ports: it is the cruise line’s discretion whether you will be allowed to keep what you buy with you, or they store it for you until the end of the cruise
