Big News for Norwegian Cruise Line

Spoiler alert: There’s a whole new class of ships coming to Norwegian Cruise Line.

That’s the good news. The bad? You’re going to have to wait a while before you can book a trip on one.

What We Know!

At last week’s christening of Oceania’s Sirena, Frank Del Rio – CEO of that line’s parent company, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings – said that after the fourth Breakaway-Plus class ship is introduced to the market in 2019, there wouldn’t be a fifth. Instead, he said that cruisers should expect “a whole new series that we’ve begun designing.” The earliest the new ships would likely be rolled out is 2022.

What Would You Like To See?

Sure, that sounds a long way off… but that doesn’t mean we can’t start thinking about what we’d love to see Norwegian incorporate into their next line of ships! What features from their current ships, of any class, would you like to see continued or maybe expanded upon with the new ships? What features just haven’t worked for you? And would you rather the new ships continue the “bigger is better” trend, or perhaps return to something smaller such as the Jewel class?
