Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat was a guest speaker this past week to kick off Carnival’s Scholarship and Mentoring Program, which connects Miami-Dade Country students with a first-hand look at the business world through a mentoring program.
Bosh gave an inspirational speech to more than 90 students that focused on the challenges of growing up and what it takes to be successful.
This is the sixth year Carnival has operated the program in conjunction with Big Brothers Big Sisters and includes an opportunity for students to apply for a four-year scholarship program. Throughout the program Carnival has awarded scholarships totaling an estimated $1.5 million to students.
