Carnival Cruise Line announced today that they are ending their partnership with comedian George Lopez. Effective June 1, 2016, Punchliner Comedy Club by George Lopez will drop the comedian’s name.
Carnival sent a letter to travel agents saying,”We have made the decision to end our partnership with George Lopez tied to our fleetwide Punchliner Comedy Clubs Presented by George Lopez and, effective June 1, 2016, the comedy clubs will no longer bear his name. Going forward they will be referred to as the Punchliner Comedy Club.”
It went on to say, “The comedy club programming will remain exactly the same with the normal roster of exceptionally talented, high caliber comedians performing multiple shows per week. We greatly value and appreciate the multi-year partnership we enjoyed with George Lopez.”
Carnival first partnered with Lopez in 2011, as part of their Fun Ship 2.0 enhancement program.
