Everything’s bigger in Texas, right? Probably why Carnival decided to position the 2,900-guest Carnival Freedom in Galveston, Texas starting in Feb. 2015. Carnival first started sailing from Galveston in 2000 and the current move puts over 600,000-guests embarking per year.

Before Carnival Freedom heads to Galveston from Port Everglades she’ll receive the Fun Ship 2.0 branded elements, including: Guy’s Burger Joint, Dr. Seuss Bookville, the brand new kids program Camp Ocean, EA Sports Bar, Alchemy Bar, Cherry on Top, Red Frog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. Red Frog Pub and more.

“Galveston is already one of our most popular embarkation ports and with Carnival Freedom we’re not only dramatically expanding capacity in the market but also providing consumers with yet another exciting opportunity to experience our spectacular Fun Ship 2.0 innovations on a Texas-based ship,” said Gerry Cahill Carnival president and CEO.

Carnival Freedom will be the third Carnival ship sailing year-round in Galveston and will kick off its new schedule with a special six-day Caribbean voyage to Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize; and Cozumel departing Feb. 15, 2015. Then launch year-round seven-day departures from Galveston Feb. 21, 2015, with three different itinerary choices throughout Mexico, the Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida.
