Carnival Reaches $5 Million Goal for St. Jude

Carnival Cruise Line has announced they’re reached their $5 million goal for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, two years ahead of schedule.  They’ve now introduced a new goal of $10 million by 2020, while continuing their role as St. Jude’s Official Celebration Partner.

The announcement was made in Memphis, Tennessee at Carnival’s 3rd annual Day of Play, which featured a variety of Dr. Seuss themed activities for patients and their families. vModeled after “Seuss at Sea,” the “Dr. Seuss on the Loose” Day of Play included a parade, story time, face painting, crafts, dancing, and more.  It also featured Dr. Seuss-inspired snacks and treats.  At the event, St. Jude was presented with an oversized check for the $5 million.

In addition to serving as the Official Celebration Partner, Carnival conducts a variety of shipboard fundraising activities throughout the year.  Also, whenever guests purchase dedicated bakery items from onboard shops, the cruise line donates a portion of the proceeds to the hospital.

Carnival has raised $8 million in total for St. Jude since the beginning of their partnership in 2010.
