Carnival has announced the name of Vista‘s sister ship, and the 26th vessel in the fleet:
Carnival Horizon!
The cruise line announced the news on their Instagram account earlier this morning, in conjunction with a sweepstakes where participants who post their favorite “horizon picture” with the appropriate hashtags can win a free cruise on the upcoming ship.

The ship will hold just shy of 4,000 passengers, and weigh 133,500 gross tons. She is currently being constructed at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, and is set for delivery in March 2018.
As far as accommodations, it looks like Carnival Horizon will be very similar in stateroom categories and style to Carnival Vista. She’s also expected to have a lot of the fun features that her sister ship has, including SkyRide, the IMAX Theater, Alchemy Bar, the Seuss at Sea program, and WaterWorks aqua park.
Homeport and itinerary for Carnival Horizon will be released at a later date. As more details are announced in the coming months, we will keep you up to date.
Many thanks to our friends at Cruise Fever for making us aware of this exciting news.
