Coast Guard Day Brings Donation by Industry Charity

Coast Guard Day The charity funded by Cruise Line International Association (CLIA)  member cruise lines, Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation, announced a $5,000 donation to Coast Guard Mutual Assistance over the weekend to commemorate Coast Guard Day .

“The cruise industry today thanks and honors the thousands of men and women that make up the U.S. Coast Guard for their service to our nation,” said CLIA President and CEO Christine Duffy, on behalf of CICF. “They work tirelessly each day, working with our member cruise lines and our partners to protect our passengers and crew, and keep our ships safe. We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the members of the Coast Guard and their families.”

The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance fund was established in 1924, providing aid and assistance to all member of the United States Coast Guard. It operates separate from the USCG.
