The 1,000-passenger Costa Allegra will not return to service after a fire broke out and stranded the ship in the Indian Ocean earlier this month.
On Carnival Corporate earnings conference call this morning it was said that cost of repairs far exceed the value of the ship and that they’ve had the ship for sale for some time.
Earlier this week it was announced that the 927-passenger Costa Voyager will replace the Costa Allegra’s itinerary, canceling Voyager’s Red Sea itineraries.
