Costa Concordia bell taken by thieves

COSTA LAY
Costa Concordia lay off the Tuscan Coast.

According to MSNBC, thieves made their way up to the sunken Costa Concordia off the Tuscan Coast and managed to escape with the ships bell that was submerged in eight-meters of water.

The ship is ‘secured’ by a laser perimeter and seismic monitoring system but the navy seal-like bandits passed through all barriers.

“I can only guess that someone took it as a sort of morbid memento,” Giglio’s mayor, Sergio Ortelli, told Reuters.

The Costa Concordia still remains submerged and plans to remove the ship are now in place and could take up to 10-months.
