Teen Goes Overboard on Costa Toscana
An 18-year-old went overboard on Costa Toscana last week shortly after the ship departed Civitavecchia, Italy en route to Genoa.
The ship did a U-turn to locate him, and the Italian Coast Guard was called to the scene. The teen, who was a German citizen, was located, but was sadly pronounced dead.
No information has been released regarding how the teen went overboard.
Costa Toscana, which is a year old, operates seven-night voyages in the Mediterranean.
Jeff Corwin to Host Special Princess Alaska Cruise
If you’re a fan of wildlife and Alaska, this may be your cruise. Wildlife biologist and TV host Jeff Corwin will host Princess’ Nature & Adventure Voyage in Alaska later this year.
The sailing will be aboard Sapphire Princess during a Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary departing Vancouver on September 6th. Guests will be able to interact with Corwin during events including keynote presentations, meet and greets, and shore excursions and dining experiences hosted by Corwin.
The Princess Alaska cruise season starts next week.

Queen Anne Reaches Construction Milestone
Cunard’s upcoming ship Queen Anne has reached another construction milestone, as the iconic red and black funnel was installed at the shipyard in Italy. The process, known as the ‘funnel lift,’ marks the addition of one of a ship’s most recognizable features.
Queen Anne will be Cunard’s 249th ship, and the fourth in its current fleet. The 3,000 guest, 113,000 gross ton ship is scheduled to debut in May 2024.
Queen Anne’s inaugural season will include voyages in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
