Princess Introduces Cabin Upgrade Bidding Program
Princess Cruises has introduced the Princess Upgrade program, which allows guests to bid on a higher category stateroom prior to the cruise.
Staring September 6, guests who have paid in full will receive an invitation to submit a bid on any stateroom category that is above the one they’re currently booked.
The program will initially be available on Caribbean, Discovery, Enchanted, Regal, and Ruby Princess, and then fleetwide by the end of October.
Norwegian, MSC, and Royal are among a few other lines that also offer the opportunity to bid for an upgrade.

St. Kitts and Nevis Ends COVID-19 Restrictions, Windstar Drops Pre-Cruise Testing Requirement
Earlier this week, St. Kitts and Nevis has ended all of its testing and vaccination requirements for visitors. This applies to travelers arriving by both air and sea.
Grand Cayman is the only Caribbean island that require non-vaccinated guests to stay on the ship.
Along the same lines, small ship line Windstar Cruises has dropped its pre-cruise testing requirements. The line is still requiring that all of its guests be vaccinated to sail.

Royal Caribbean Releases Construction Footage of Icon of the Seas
Royal Caribbean has released new footage of its upcoming ship Icon of the Seas, which will be the first in the new Icon-class.
It’ll carry around 5,600 passengers, is powered by LNG ,and includes a new, mysterious sphere structure that the cruise line is keeping tight-lipped about.
Icon of the Seas is currently under construction in Finland ahead of its fall 2023 debut.
Two more Icon-class ships are scheduled to debut in 2025 and 2026.
