Antarctica Cruise Guests See Solar Eclipse
Guests onboard National Geographic Endurance got to see a rare sight when the ship was able to catch the solar eclipse.
Sailing in the southwest Atlantic Ocean near Antarctica, the ship was aligned perfectly to catch a glimpse of the eclipse. Meteorologists and photographers joined guests to capture the sun rising above the horizon making what appeared to be a big smile.
The National Geographic Endurance was launched over the summer and was designed to navigate polar passages year-round.
