Princess to Sail From LA Next Summer

Princess Cruises has announced its first summer season of voyages to western Mexico, Hawaii, and California.

From May to August of 2023, Emerald Princess will operate five to 16-day voyages roundtrip from Los Angeles. Itineraries will include seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises, 16-night Hawaii sailings, seven-night California Coastal voyages, and more.

Bookings for these summer sailings are now open.

Seven Seas Grandeur Keel Laid

A keel laying ceremony was held at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on Tuesday for Regent’s upcoming ship Seven Seas Grandeur.

During the event, three coins were placed on the keel, each representing one of the Explorer class ships: Explorer, Splendor, and Grandeur.

Seven Seas Grandeur will be 55,500 gross tons and hold 732 passengers.

The luxury ship is scheduled to debut in November 2023 with a transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami.

Travel + Leisure Announces Winners of Its 2022 World’s Best Awards

Travel and Leisure has announced its 2022 World’s Best Awards, which includes readers’ picks for the best cruise lines.

Viking took home best midsize ship ocean cruise line, as well as best river line.

Celebrity won best mega-ship ocean line, with newcomer Virgin Voyages and Princess taking the number two and three spots.

Disney came out on top for best large-ship line, with Cunard, Celebrity, and Holland America taking second, third, and fourth, respectively.

The award for best island in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Bahamas went to Dominica, which can be found on the itineraries of many cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Oceania.
