San Juan Pier Repairs

Repairs on Pier 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, are wrapped up with the help of 8.5 million dollars from the Puerto Rico Ports Authority’s funds.

The repairs were necessary after Norwegian Epic hit the pier while docking in February 2019.

The collision damaged certain parts of the pier and the walkways connecting different sections. The concrete columns that supported these structures collapsed when the ship crashed into them.

In addition to rebuilding the pier, they had to relocate mooring posts and repair damaged walkways.
