Carnival Announces Cucina Del Capitano Reopening Date
Carnival Cruise Line will be reopening its Italian specialty restaurant Cucina Del Capitano on August 6.
In mid-May, Carnival closed the venue for dinner due to staff shortage issues. During that time, select Cucina menu items were available in the main dining room to make up for the closure.
Now Carnival’s staffing issues are improving, and the line has also resumed another dining experience that was paused — the Chef’s Table.
Cucina Del Capitano can be found on nine ships and costs a fixed price of $18 for adults and $6 for kids. The restaurant will also be on the upcoming ships Carnival Celebration and Jubilee.
Princess Cruises Cancels Some Calls to Skagway
In a continuation of yesterday’s Skagway story, Princess Cruises has canceled scheduled visits to the port on Majestic, Royal, Discovery, and Grand Princess this month due to the increased rockslide risk at the dock.
Skagway has closed the dock’s forward berth, which is where those ship would tie up. Yesterday’s Crown Princess visit went ahead as scheduled because that ship is able to dock at a different pier.
Princess said it would be working with officials from the town and the port to determine when scheduled calls can resume.
