MSC Cruises Featured on Today Show
Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ private island in the Bahamas, has gained attention on The Today Show for its pioneering coral nursery.
The Super Coral Program aims to rebuild the coral beds surrounding the island.
The program involves growing sample specimens of Super-Corals on “coral trees” to understand their adaptation to ocean conditions and to cultivate resilient coral.
MSC Cruises plans to expand the project, with 13 trees expected to produce over 1,100 coral fragments by year-end.
Promoting marine conservation and restoration was MSC Cruises’ goal since the island was first announced.
The island opened to cruisers in late 2019.
