Norwegian Epic to Florida in Late 2023
We now know why NCL pulled Norwegian Epic out of Europe this winter.
In a statement, the line said., “Due to the growing guest demand for Caribbean sailings this winter, Norwegian Epic will be redeployed to Port Canaveral, Fla. to offer a mix of seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries beginning Dec. 17, 2023.
All guests booked on these sailings will receive an automatic full refund returned to the form of payment provided at the time of reservation as well as a bonus Future Cruise Certificate valid for a future cruise.
The line will have 10 ships in Europe next summer.
MSC Ship Delivered and Coin Ceremony
MSC Cruises celebrated the Coin Ceremony for MSC World America, marking a key milestone in the soon-to-be Miami ship.
The ceremony took place alongside the delivery of MSC Euribia at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, marking a significant growth in the company’s efforts to become the world’s third-largest and fastest-growing cruise line.
Both ships are being tailored for the North American market, including an outdoor destination called “The Harbor.”
MSC World America is set to be delivered at the PortMiami state-of-the-art terminal in 2025 as the leading ship in MSC’s growing U.S. fleet.
PILOT boat hits fishing boat
A fishing vessel named Miss Heather sunk after colliding with a pilot boat, Swift, on Tuesday morning at the Port of Virginia, near the Newport News Small Boat Harbor. The two fishermen were rescued by the Swift, and no injuries were reported.
The fishing vessel broke apart and was drifting, and the Coast Guard is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the removal of the sunk vessel.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
