Carnival Venezia Welcomed in New York City
She is officially home and ready to welcome guests.
Carnival Venezia was welcomed by her Godfather, Jay Leno, last night at a welcoming ceremony at Pier 88 in Manhattan.
Hosted by Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald and 1000 guests in attendance, they did something special.
Following the christening dinner, Jay Leno performed a comedy set in the ship’s main theater.
Later today, the Venezia will embark on its inaugural four night from the big apple to Bermuda.
Cruise CEO Dumps Stock

Frank Del Rio, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), sold 300,000 NCLH shares for a total of $5.5 million dollars on Monday.
The transactions took place on June 12 at prices ranging from $18.40 to $18.56, with a weighted average price of $18.44.
Despite the sale, Del Rio still holds 926,505 shares directly and 27,875 shares indirectly through a family trust.
On June 13, NCLH shares reached a 52-week high of $19.59 during trading, closing at $19.47, marking a 5.76% increase.
Del Rio is set to retire from NCLH on June 30.
Celebrity Ascent Detailed
We are learning more details about the fourth Celebrity Edge-class ship.
Celebrity Ascent will feature dining and entertainment tweaks when it arrives in November.
The ship will have a redesigned Le Voyage restaurant, this time inspired by the culture of champagne; also the Cosmopolitan restaurant will also undergo a redesign.
Blu, the venue for AquaClass guests, will have its first outdoor terrace, while Le Petit Chef dinner will offer a new animation and menu.
Craft Social will expand its offerings to include high-end bourbons and tastings, and the Martini Bar will introduce an expanded menu.
Also, more gambling space, entertainment, and production shows.
The ship will keep continuing with crowd favorites like The Magic Carpet and The Rooftop Garden.
Ascent will operate Caribbean cruises from December to April before heading to the Mediterranean for the 24 summer season.
