Carnival Announces Celebration CD and ED
The long-awaited day has arrived. Later on this morning, Disney Cruise Line will christening its brand new LNG-powered vessel, Disney Wish, in Port Canaveral, Florida.
The ship’s godchildren, from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will bless Wish before it departs on a preview cruise to The Bahamas later this afternoon.
This is Disney’s first new build in a decade, and fifth ship overall, joining Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy. She’ll sail three and four night cruises from Central Florida.
Crown Princess Alaska Itinerary Changed Again
Princess Cruises continues to change Alaska itineraries on Crown Princess, as the ship continues to be impacted by engine problems that affect its top speed.
A scheduled Ketchikan call was previously removed on the July 9 sailing, and now the call in Juneau on July 11 has been shortened as well.
Crew Center reports that Princess has been aware of the issues for several months, but put the ship back in service on May 7 before fixing them.
Carnival Magic Fight Investigated By NYPD
A fight on Carnival Magic on Monday evening was under investigation yesterday by the NYPD.
According to Carnival, a fight broke out at a nightclub on the ship as it was sailing towards New York. A number of guests were involved, with no serious injuries reported.
The ship’s onboard security team intervened, and authorities met the ship when it docked to interview people involved.
Magic was on an eight-night eastern Caribbean voyage.
