Holland America’s ms Eurodam made an unexpected stopover in Jacksonville, Florida on Friday to weather out Hurricane Sandy, which continues to spin and disrupt cruise itineraries in the Atlantic Ocean.
The ship was on a 13-night repositioning cruise from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale that departed on October 14. The 2,104-guest Eurodam will continue her trek down to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday afternoon.
Since Jacksonville only has one cruise terminal and that was occupied by Carnival Fascination, the ms Eurodam had to dock at the cargo area of the Blount Island Marine Terminal.
