Cunard Receives Top Honors from Porthole Magazine

Cunard has received high honors in Porthole Cruise Magazine’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards.  The 18th annual awards are determined by thousands of readers and online fans of the magazine, who vote for their favorite cruise lines and ships in 54 categories.  This year rounded up a record-breaking number of ballots.

The cruise line was voted best in two categories, ‘Best Transatlantic Itineraries’ and ‘Best World Cruise Itineraries,’ which Cunard won for the 17th year in a row.  “As the line who pioneered Transatlantic Crossings and World Voyages, we are delighted that the readers of Porthole continue to be equally enthusiastic to experience these legendary itineraries,” said president of Cunard North America Richard Meadows. “We are honored to receive this accolade.”

Earlier this year, Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 underwent an extensive refit, costing around $132 million.  The vessel takes its art-deco inspiration from the original Queen Mary, which debuted 80 years ago.
