There is so much to look forward to when you’re heading on a cruise, but a real highlight is always getting the chance to sample some high-quality entertainment.
Many top acts can be enjoyed across a host of ships, but in recent years some of the biggest cruise liners have been able to pull in some truly A-list talent and take matters to a whole new level. A prime example of this is undoubtedly the Days of Summer Cruise which is expected to set sail later this year.
A trip of a lifetime
For many, getting the chance to enjoy a four-day trip from Miami to the Bahamas would undoubtedly be the holiday of a lifetime. Throw in a couple of performances from the likes of Cardi B and Post Malone though and then you’re taking things to another stratosphere entirely. However, that is exactly what holidaymakers on the Days of Summer Cruise can expect to enjoy.
Cardi B, who recently made a surprise appearance at this year’s Coachella festival, will be headlining the DJ Khaled-hosted event alongside Post on the Carnival Victory ship.
Set to take place from Friday 28th June to Monday 1st July, the festival may well prove to be a huge draw and holidaymakers have the chance to select from a range of different cabins for the event. However, time is beginning to run out for those who want to get involved, with the final payment deadline date currently set to Wednesday 15th May.
Seeing major artists agree to performances on cruise ships is nothing new, with Paramore’s own Parahoy! event also operating from Miami to the Bahamas in April last year. However, we are seeing more and more of this trend in recent years. The concept has also thrived outside of music, with Star Trek: The Cruise offering what is essentially a fans convention at sea. The event will make use of the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas on its next trip which is scheduled for March next year.
With a line-up of stars at the absolute top of their game, it could be argued that the Days of Summer Cruise is taking such trends to a new high.
The real star of the show?
Of course, away from the A-list talent, there is another star on the cruise – the ship itself. A key issue you will want to know before you cruise is whether the Carnival Victory is packed with quality attractions. Well, holidaymakers will not be disappointed as Metro.co.uk reports that during Days of Summer it will feature a world-class spa, as well as around-the-clock dining options and a range of bars too. There’s also plenty for fans of casino games, a rising demographic thanks to the popularity of online casino sites such as Betway online casino, whose offering of slots and a host of variants of card classics like poker and blackjack has familiarized more people with this type of entertainment. Holidaymakers and music fans on the Days of Summer Cruise will get the chance to experience casino gaming in the ship’s casino, complete with slots machines and table games, during their trip.
Knowledgeable cruise enthusiasts may be aware that this voyage could well be among the last that the Victory takes in its present form, with it set for major refurbishment work at the start of next year. The enhancement project is about more than just boosting the facilities on the vessel too, as when it heads back out on the water it will be known as the Carnival Radiance. With this in mind, the Days of Summer event could be a good opportunity to see the ship one more time before it undergoes some fairly significant changes.
The quality of cruise entertainment has always been high, but the growing number of trips which revolve around A-list talent is undoubtedly taking things to a level that few may have predicted in previous years.
It will be fascinating to see just how successful the Days of Summer Cruise proves to be and whether it may set a template for even more similar events to be held in the future. One thing such events undoubtedly highlight is how cruise ships and the idea of going on a cruise remains a significant draw to a huge number of people.
