Disney Cruise Line Ends Testing for Vaccinated Guests

Disney Cruise Line has announced another change to its COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Starting September 23, 2022, fully vaccinated passengers sailing on Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wonder, and Disney Wish will no longer need to submit a negative COVID-19 test result to sail. The same will be true of guests sailing on Disney Magic starting November 7, 2022.

Also starting September 23 for the first four ships, and November 7 for Disney Magic, unvaccinated guests will no longer be required to take a second COVID-19 test at the terminal on embarkation day.

Current Disney Cruise Protocols

Currently, fully-vaccinated guests must provide proof of a negative test result taken one to two days before the sail date to be exempt from testing at the terminal. Vaccinated travelers who don’t take the pre-cruise test and upload it to the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day will be testing at the terminal prior to boarding the ship, and will be charged for the cost of the test.

Passengers who are not fully vaccinated are required to show proof of a negative NAAT, rapid PCR, or lab-based PCR test taken one to three days prior to the sail date. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. Unvaccinated guests will then take another test at the terminal on embarkation day, paid for by the cruise line.

Back-to-Back Sailings

Passengers who are not fully vaccinated taking consecutive back-to-back sailings will be required to take a COVID-19 test between voyages, paid for by Disney Cruise Line.

Starting September 2, 2022, for voyages departing the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, guests 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to sail. Boosters are not required.

The line’s current vaccination policy states that guests five and older must be vaccinated to sail.
