Cunard Line will air live coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games and the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship on board flagship Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, ensuring that sports enthusiast guests catch all of the action while taking a luxury cruise vacation this summer.
Guests traveling between 27 July and 12 August will enjoy extensive coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games, including rowing, athletics, diving, gymnastics, cycling, swimming and basketball programming, as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Additionally, all 31 UEFA European Football Championship matches, which will be held in Poland and Ukraine between 8 June and 1 July, 2012, will air live.
“Televising signature events such as the Olympic Games for our guests builds on the strength of Britain’s cultural and sporting calendar this year,” said Peter Shanks, president of Cunard Line. “These live broadcasts follow our on board coverage of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the historic Cunard Royal Rendezvous of all three ships in Southampton on 5 June. It all adds up to a great summer of sport and entertainment for Cunard guests.”
All coverage will be shown live in public areas on board, and is satellite dependent.
