MSC Announces First World Cruise

MSC Cruises has announced the addition of a very special type of voyage to their lineup of itineraries: their very first World Cruise.

The MSC World Cruise will take place on MSC Magnifica, the industry’s largest and most modern ship to operate a world cruise.  The adventure will begin as guests depart from Genoa on January 5, 2019 and complete her around the world voyage, returning to Genoa 119 days later on May 3.  Crossing six continents and calling in 49 destinations in 32 countries, this cruise is the adventure of a lifetime.

Throughout the voyage, guests will visit some of the most historic ports, bustling cities, and remote, exotic island paradises around the world.  Highlights include:

Exotic Destinations

From the archipelago of Tonga and the pristine waters of Bora Bora to the thriving Cartagena and Aqaba, MSC has hand-picked the 49 destinations around the world for their first World Cruise to visit.  The voyage will also allow guests to explore Fiji, New Zealand, and the Maldives as well as an expanded tour of “off the beaten path” Caribbean islands, with nine ports of call throughout the region.

Exclusive Shore Experiences

Whether riding the elephants of Pinnawela, snorkeling in Moorea, or touring the Nga Bay National Park, guests are able to immerse themselves in local culture and experience the best of each destination.  To go a step further, MSC guests will be able to book 15 complimentary shore excursions of their choice to explore the world like they never have before.

More Time

In order to take advantage of as much of each destination as possible, the average stay for each port will be above industry average – 13 hours.

Extended Stays

For the most popular destinations, MSC has arranged extended in-port stays that no other cruise line offers.  This includes four full days in Polynesia, three full days in both Hawaii and San Francisco, and two full days in Los Angeles.

Quality Time Onboard

Spending 118 nights onboard, guests are going to be well taken care of during their world cruise adventure.  To make the voyage easier, MSC will offer numerous onboard discounts, including a 30 percent discount on laundry services.  Each detail has been well thought-out to make the cruise the adventure of a lifetime.

Ship Details

Built in 2010, Magnifica boasts a classy design and relaxed refinement, with all of the features that guests have come to know and love across all of MSC’s ships.  It features a high ratio of balcony staterooms, authentic dining options across four restaurants and eleven bars, and a wide range of entertainment and activities.  Some offerings include a 4D movie theater, full-scale casino, a cigar lounge, and panoramic discotheque.

Beginning today, for one month MSC Voyagers Club members will be able to book the entire cruise.  Sales will open up to the public on December 14.  Round trip embarkation/disembarkation ports include Rome, Genoa, Marseille, and Barcelona for those who would like to only sail a portion of the voyage.  Guests can book staterooms beginning at $16,999 – just $144 per person per night.
