Norwegian Steps Up High Speed Wifi

Norwegian cruisers, rejoice!  The wifi aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises is about to get a whole lot better.  Like – quadruple bandwidth better, on all 23 ships across Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ fleet.

Before the end of June, multi-million dollar bandwidth and new technology upgrades will be installed fleet-wide, including new satellite dishes, and the SpeedNet program.  This program delivers popular websites at speeds that mimic high-speed fiber optic networks, similar to ones available in offices and homes.  The connectivity is further enhanced by the recent deployment of high speed shoreside connectivity in different ports of call.

When can we expect the new wifi?

Guests onboard all three brands’ ships can expect the new high-speed internet by July of this year.  Regent guests enjoy complimentary wifi during their cruise.  Oceania guests sailing under the current OLife Choice promotion and Norwegian Cruise Line guests who picked free wifi as part of the Free at Sea promo will also be able to enjoy the new internet during their voyage.  For those buying a plan, per-minute packages, as well as unlimited packages are available ahead of time, or onboard.
