Different cruise lines have different policies for when an expecting mother is able to cruise before they get closer to their due date, and what’s required at check-in. We have the cruise line pregnancy policies listed below.
Carnival
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: a letter from the attending doctor certifying that their gestational status is in accordance with the policy, and that the expecting mother is fit to sail.
Royal Caribbean
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: all guests are required to sign a health questionnaire at check-in to ensure they’re aware of the policy.
Norwegian
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: an expectant mother’s application for sailing must be accompanied by a medical certificate establishing her due date and whether she’s fit to travel.
Princess
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: a doctor’s letter saying that the mother and baby are in good health, fit to travel, and that the pregnancy isn’t high-risk.
Celebrity
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: all guests are required to sign a health questionnaire at check-in to ensure they are aware of the policy.
Holland America
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: pregnant guests must bring a doctor’s letter stating the expected due date, medical fitness to travel, and that the pregnancy is not high risk.
Disney
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: none
MSC
Cutoff Time: 27 weeks
Requirements: a medical certificate proving the expectant mother is fit to travel.
Cunard
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: proof of estimated due date and fitness to travel will be required by the medical department prior to sailing by the guest’s attending doctor.
Seabourn
Cutoff Time: 24 weeks
Requirements: expecting guests are required to have a doctor’s letter stating that mother and baby are in good health, fit to travel, and the pregnancy is not high-risk. It must also include the estimated date of delivery calculated from both last menstrual period and ultrasound (if performed).
