Princess Cruises will feature the famous 60s singing group, The Temptations, in its 60th anniversary sailing later this year.

The legendary vocal group from Detroit gave passengers a taste of what’s to come by performing their classic hit “My Girl” on the Discovery Princess last Saturday.
Jill Whelan, the cruise line’s Celebrations Ambassador and a star on the long-running The Love Boat TV show, delivered the exciting news. Whelan is also expected to host the 60th Anniversary Cruise. Princess promises to reveal more details regarding its onboard events and special guests in the coming months.
Cruise Down Memory Lane in December 2025
Princess Cruises’ 14-day 60th Anniversary Mexican Riviera Voyage is scheduled to leave on December 6, 2025 from Los Angeles. It will visit a few of the same ports as the first-ever Princess Cruises sailing aboard Princess Patricia. This includes overnight stays in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, and visits to Manzanilla, Mazatlán, and Loreto.
Cruise line President Gus Antorcha remarked that the anniversary pays tribute to the first Princess Cruises sailing which left on December 3, 1965. “As we prepare to celebrate our 60th anniversary, we can’t help but look back at where it all began with one ship sailing to Mexico,” he began.
Antorcha continued, “This commemorative 60th Anniversary Cruise will not only pay tribute to our rich history but also bring together the joy of cruise travel, music, and unforgettable moments. The Temptations’ performance today gives just a glimpse of the excitement and memorable experiences we have in store for this milestone.”
Cruisers can already book their slots for the anniversary sailing. Fans of the Princess Premier Package may notice a $10 increase from $80 to $90 a day. The price hike was introduced in August 2024 and now includes unlimited specialty dining.
Meanwhile, sister company Carnival Cruise Line recently celebrated 20 years of cruising from Jacksonville, Florida.
