American Cruise Lines brand new 150-guest Queen of the Mississippi paddlewheeler embarked on its first seven-night round trip sailing from New Orleans’ Julia Street Cruise Terminal on Saturday.
The sold out sailing will make stops in Natchez, Vicksburg, St. Francisville, Baton Rouge, and Oak Alley before returning to New Orleans on Saturday.
The 2012 season for the Queen of the Mississippi will bring it as far north as St. Paul, MN, as far east as Pittsburg, and south to New Orleans. Queen of the Mississippi will homeport year-round on the Mississippi River.
A “Savories of the South” themed cruise is planned this winter on the new paddlewheeler. American Cruise Lines’ Queen of the Mississippi is the first brand-new paddlewheer on the river in 17-years.
