Effective March 1, 2013, guests sailing on Royal Caribbean will see an increase in daily gratuities from $11.65 per day to $12.00 per person per day.
According to Royal Caribbean’s website, “Royal Caribbean automatically adds a $12.00 USD gratuity ($14.25 USD for Suite Guests) to each guest’s SeaPass® account on a daily basis. The daily automatic gratuity amounts are recommended and are based on customary industry standards.”
Guests who have already prepaid their gratuities prior to the March 1, 2013 sailings will not be charged the increase.
The line also states in the unlikely event of unsatisfactory service, guests can adjust the daily amount at the guest services desk. Royal Caribbean gratuities are suggested, not mandatory.
