Sitting here watching the news and they say– in the past two years some five million people have lost their jobs. How disturbing but it brings a good point to us all. We are not promised tomorrow. Vacations aren’t a want in life, they are a NEED. Not to mentions schools like University of Minn., have done case studies on how we need vacations to work efficiently and mentally we need them for our health.
Last week I was sitting in the airport and on my twitter account where I follow some travel agents for deals. I was shocked when I came across a couple of them like Royal Caribbean had a “one day sale” of 109 dollars for a 4 day cruise out of Miami, Fla. Are you a west coaster? How about 199 dollars for a five day cruise out of San Diego, CA. Even if you are not a cruiser… trips to Cancun for 379 dollars including airfare and a 5 night stay.
With cruises at rock bottom prices — you need to take advantage of this.
Sure its easy to type this out and talk about it but doing it is a different story, right? WRONG. Here are some tips to get you on your way, all you have to do is implement them in your life.
- Set up a mini vacation account – an old pickle jar will work. Even if its just ten dollars a week
- Book early
- Don’t ask to go on vacation, state that your going on vacation.. you deserve it!
- Ask off early
- Don’t plan your vacation out too much, do what you want to do and when you want to do it
- Don’t cut your time off short
- Stay off your cell phone
You don’y always have to go out and spend a ton of money to have a nice vacation — be creative. Take a day trip.
So before you snap at another person, do me a favor… take a vacation!
