Tropical Storm Hermine Path Reroutes Cruise Ships
You can call it the storm that doesn’t want to go away. Tropical Storm Hermine wreaked havoc along the southeastern seaboard earlier in the week and it’s not done yet. A storm that barely disrupted cruise ship itineraries in the Caribbean is making up for it in the Northeast this weekend.
To err on the side of caution, Carnival, Norwegian, and Celebrity Cruises have all altered their itineraries to avoid the storm and discomfort for their guests.
Changes
Carnival Sunshine has flipped their stops in Boston and Portland. The ship will now call to Portland first and Boston second. The original itinerary had Boston as the first port stop. Their Canadian port times will also be revised.
Norwegian Breakaway and Celebrity Summit have moved their departure time up to get out of New York City earlier. They are leaving at 1:30p and 2p, their usually sail away is 4p.
According to Royal Caribbean’s website, no itinerary changes have been issued.
The National Hurricane Center says Post-Tropical Cyclone Hermine is expect to slow down before veering off to the east later this week.
