About

Hi, I’m Doug Parker, the creator of Cruise Radio and Cruise News Today

I took my first cruise in 1997 on Carnival Fantasy and have been hooked ever since (thanks mom and dad!).

How Cruise Radio started

From anchoring news at a radio station to chasing cruise ships around the world, life has been nothing short of an adventure.

I attended Florida State College, where I worked on a mass communication degree until landing a job in radio at age of 20. For the next decade, I worked at different radio stations in Florida.

Fueled by a passion for news and a constant stream of cruise questions from friends, I felt a calling toward a greater purpose.

In 2009, I took the opportunity to purchase the domain CruiseRadio, transforming it into a hub for advice in written, audio, and video formats.

In June 2009, I launched Cruise Radio. Five years later, I left my radio job to devote myself full-time to my passion project.

In 2018, I launched Cruise News Today, a daily two minute audio and video news brief of the top three cruise industry stories and stock quotes.

Cruise Radio remains a go-to source for reliable information and accuracy.

While cruising holds a special place in my heart, I love all types of travel. I can be found on the slopes, going to concerts, and exploring the National and State Parks with my camper.
