Carnival Cruise Line is preparing for a record-breaking summer. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it expects to carry nearly two million guests aboard its largest fleet to date.
The season will also mark the much-anticipated July 19 opening of Celebration Key, Carnival’s new exclusive destination on Grand Bahama.
“Summer is the busiest time for travel and Carnival Cruise Line is poised for one of our largest summer cruise schedules ever,” said Carnival President Christine Duffy.
She said, “With most meals, entertainment and activities included, a Carnival cruise represents a significant value over land-based vacations.”
Carnival will operate 23 sailings over Memorial Day weekend alone and make more than 1,200 port calls in close to 100 destinations this summer.
Celebration Key will welcome more than 80 Carnival visits by Labor Day, with 15 ships sailing from eight homeports.
Meanwhile, the line will streamline excursions with a new ticketless platform in its most-visited ports.
Carnival also marks 20 years of sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) and continues its presence in Europe and Australia. It also has a three-ship Alaska program from Seattle and San Francisco that will serve 100,000 guests.
