The dry dock schedule of Disney Fantasy has been updated, prompting Disney Cruise Line (DCL) to cancel four sailings from late October to mid-November 2025.

“Due to an unplanned change in the scheduled dry dock dates for the Disney Fantasy, your sailing is no longer available,” the letter dated January 15 reads.
The cruises departing on the following dates onboard Disney Fantasy have thus been canceled:
- October 20, 2025
- November 2, 2025
- November 7, 2025
- November 12, 2025
The October 20 sailing is a 13-night transatlantic voyage from Southampton to Port Canaveral while the November cruises were supposed to take guests from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas over four to five-night periods.
Refunds and Alternative Itineraries
Disney Cruise Line Blog reports the company has advised guests to book similar itineraries on other vessels.
According to the cruise line, another westbound transatlantic cruise will become available by February 6, 2025, while alternative sailings to The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, and Southampton are already open for bookings.
Additionally, DCL is offering full refunds on reservation fees plus a 20% future cruise credit that passengers can use on another sailing.
Based on the new dry dock schedule, the 2012-built ship will be out of service from September 29 to November 16, 2025.
Vessel Dry Docks: A Must for Cruise Lines
Routine dry docks are required for maintaining and upgrading ships. Typical cruise ships go into dry dock every five years.
As Disney stated in their letter to passengers, “Our Disney Cruise Line ships undergo a dry dock every few years for needed maintenance and refurbishment.”
After Disney Fantasy’s 2017 dry dock, the ship re-emerged with significant improvements and new attractions. The Dream-class vessel received a Marvel Super Hero Academy where children could meet their favorite heroes, enroll in superhero lessons, and play video games. Other enhancements included the addition of new shops, food and beverage areas, and a Star Wars-themed venue.
Princess Cruises also recently announced a dry dock for Regal Princess that will impact two of its sailings.
