Princess Cruises began the inaugural sailing of Star Princess on Saturday, launching an 11-day Western Mediterranean itinerary from Barcelona.

Captain Gennaro Arma expressed pride in leading the newbuild team and now welcoming guests aboard for the first voyage. “We warmly invite guests to experience the extraordinary service Princess is known for,” he said.
The 177,800-ton vessel accommodates up to 4,300 guests across 1,500 balcony staterooms and offers 30 dining and bar venues, along with expanded entertainment venues.

Looking Ahead
The maiden season includes calls at Marseille, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, Sicily, Cartagena, and Gibraltar before returning to Barcelona. In winter and spring 2026, the ship will continue Caribbean cruises, then reposition via the Panama Canal to Seattle for 7-day Alaska Inside Passage cruises during the summer.
